“I will use the drive-thru please”

grey car

Today in history-November 12, 1946, the first USA drive thru banking service was available at The Exchange National Bank of Chicago, Illinois. Can you imagine live without a drive-thru’? I really cannot at so many turns, working, having kids in hand, in a hurry, no make-up on, and having your animals in the car. The extra help of handling your financial services via the drive-thru was so innovative for that time. The Tellers were behind bulletproof glass and had sliding draws for transactions. Remember those sliding draws? Running to the bank to use the drive-thru for money, deposits, etc. began to grow quickly around the country and began to lead into food and drive-up dining. The ‘”drive-thru” sure changed our world.
