I was born in 1959, the same year the Halter Dress was the fashion trend of the year. Do you remember the Halter Dress Marilyn Monroe wore in the movie “The seven-year itch”? The dress that blew up when she stood over the street steam gate, boy that halter dress became the dress of the decade. Who has not had a halter dress at some point in their life? Most of my prom dresses was a halter style, for many years in my younger life I wore the halter dress. My mom made many of my dresses in my high school years from McCall patterns. She was definitely an awesome seamstress, and I was always dressing in the current and latest styles. The halter dress today is still a trend and ongoing fashion statement. Marilyn Monroe of course wore a halter dress like no other. Aww what style she had, beautiful “Norma Jean”.
